Oh, how I am obsessed with the Crowd!
The power of the crowd has been on my mind a lot over the last 7 months.
What do I mean by “crowd”? Basically, it refers to a large and definable group of people. This could be a crowd at a concert, the entire population of a country, or the 600M Facebook users.
In my use, it refers to the entire world population and how ubiquitous internet adoption has allowed us the ability to capture the world’s (read: crowd’s) real-time desires, sentiments, needs, and wants.
This most recently played out in Cairo, Egypt.
How else could we harness the power of the crowd through technology/internet usage? What other applications could be used with the crowd - commercial, social, enterprise?
Commercially, how much is it worth to brands and companies? What are they willing to pay to gather the crowd’s desires and wants….and fulfill that desire in that very instant?
